Knee Contractures

A contracture is the permanent shortening of a muscle. Frequent position changes and range of motion exercises are important weapons in the battle against contractures.

The Elite 35V Semi Recliner or Elite 85V Tilt with the Contracture Sling option (models become 35C and 85C respectively) chairs are ideal when dealing with contractures. The contracture sling adjusts in and out from the chair to accommodate the severity of the contracture.

This allows for otherwise often bed-ridden residents to sit upright and socialize within the facility, thus helping to reduce pressure sores that can occur on bed-ridden residents.
