Skin Breakdown

Broda Comfort Tension Seating™ redistributes pressure, creating air flow, and moisture dissipation, helping to prevent skin breakdown. Strapping contours to the resident's body for long term comfort and minimizes risk of bottoming out. Pressure distribution is built into the chair which means there is typically no need for additional cushions!

Falls (non mobile residents)

Infinitely adjustable tilt in space creates a comforting cradle effect to help prevent slumping, sliding and falls. Tilt, used with infinitely adjustable recline, (certain models) offers additional positioning options to aid in fall prevention. Adjustable arm rest height enables proper arm support to help prevent slumping. Adjustable legrest length and footrest angle aids in proper foot support to also help prevent slumping. Increased overall comfort helps keep resident content in the chair, helping to prevent the desire from getting out of the chair.

Falls (mobile residents)

Infinitely adjustable tilt in space creates a comforting cradle effect to help prevent slumping, sliding and falls. Broda's front pivot seat tilt allows for a proper foot on floor position for safe and easy propelling while tilted Even while tilted, resident still maintains freedom of movement about the facility to help prevent unwanted standing that can lead to falls.

Agitation/Involuntary Movement

Broda chairs are made of 16 gauge tubular steel and are extremely durable and stable to withstand highly agitated movements Infinitely adjustable tilt and recline provide positioning that create comfort, helping to calm agitated residents, as well as offering safe positioninig without the use of restraints. Full padding and optional Huntington's padding help to protect resident from injury. Gas springs create shock absorption also helping to prevent injury.

Poor Trunk Control

Infinitely adjustable tilt and recline reposition resident to assist with poor postural support. Armrests are adjustable to provide proper support to prevent leaning. Adjustable upper lateral supports (wings) help to prevent leaning. Molded laterals are also available for additional positioning.

Contractures

Broda offers an optional contracture sling to accommodate knee contractures. Tilt only models are ideal for residents requiring a fixed hip angle. For residents who require a fixed hip angle greater than 90°, our (infinitely adjustable) semi recliners can be reclined to match the angle of the hips. Split flip down footrest has angle adjustable footplates to accommodate ankle contractures.

Bariatric

Broda offers custom bariatric seat widths up to 28". We also customize seat depths and heights. (Bariatric Commode Shower Chair up to 33" seat width) Broda chairs are extremely durable (16 gauge tubular steel) to withstand bariatric weights Infinitely adjustable tilt and recline help to improve bariatric resident comfort and safety. Semi recline position allows for improved chest expansion for better breathing.
